You can search for assets using partial keywords, which helps you to easily find exactly the ones you need. You also can save a search you've performed to quickly pull up those assets again.

Searching for an Asset

To search for an asset, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure that you are logged in to the account in which you want to search for assets. (See Switching Accounts if you need to change your account.)

  2. Click  on the left sidebar menu.

  3. Click Assets on the flyout menu that appears.

The Assets screen will appear and list the assets of the account you are logged in to.

Note: Your search will return results only for that account (and its subaccounts, if you have View Subaccounts selected). (Refer to step 1.)
  4. If you want to search by name, leave the top-left drop-down selection set to Name.

If you want to specify a different field by which to search, click the Name drop-down arrow and select it (such as Status or VIN).

  5. Type part of the asset name, VIN, or other field you chose in the Search field and press Enter.
Note: You can also copy and paste the names of several assets, separated by commas, in the search bar, but in this case, you'll need to use their full names. Be aware, however, there is a known bug that is not returning all the possible results.

Some field choices, such as Status, Asset Type, and Groups, will give you a drop-down list from which to choose.
Only assets that match your search criteria will appear in the grid.

Your search criteria will appear at the top left of the grid. You can clear the search by clicking  or Clear All.

Saving a Search

You can save a search you've made so that you can quickly find it later as follows:

  1. Perform the steps in the preceding section to search for the asset(s).

  2. Click Save Search.
Note: If you have previously saved a search on this or any CTC Admin screen, this will be Saved Search. After clicking that, click Save As from the menu.
The Save Search drop-down box will be displayed.

  3. In the Enter Name to Save Query box, type a name for the search that will easily identify it for you later.

  4. Click Save.

  5. To view your saved search when you return to the Assets screen, follow these steps:

    1. Click the Saved Search drop-down arrow.

A drop-down list will offer all your previously saved searches as choices.

    2. Select the search results you need.
